Once they have been established in your landscape, we like to apply Moon Dust fertilizer so it can enhance fruit quality and the overall health of the plant.

Oleander 

An Oleander will thrive in full sun with low to moderate water use once established. It's a versatile plant that can grow just fine in partial shade, too. Larger Oleanders can be easily trained into single or multi-trunked trees with dark green, leathery, and semi-glossy narrow leaves providingyear-roundinterest. Once in bloom, expect pollinators and hummingbirds to flock into your garden to enjoy the floriferous display of heavily scented single and double petal flowers.

Pygmy Palm

Pygmy Date Palms can be used in many landscape applications. Depending on your need, we carry both single and multi-trunk varieties. Its versatility and dwarf growth pattern allow it to be planted in tight spaces around pools, patios, courtyards, and pots. The Pygmy Date Palm can also be grown in shade and its roots and non-invasive. This allows it to be a fantastic option for planting under larger palms, in between palms, or in a cluster.

Jacaranda

Jacaranda mimosifolia is drought tolerant once established, has deep roots, and thrives in full sun environments. Though soft in appearance, Jacaranda trees are pretty tough and love growing in the intense summer heat that is common here in the Southwestern United States. Available as standard or multi-trunk, this semi-evergreen Jacaranda goes well with a tropical theme landscape design or even a desert landscape design. Since it is a semi-evergreen tree, it can provide excellent shade in the summer, and lets in the light during winter. This tree is fairly hardy after it gains some mature, hard wood, so feel free to buy a mature Jacaranda mimosifolia tree from the large inventory available at our Moon Valley Nurseries.

Purple Leaf Plum

This low maintenance ornamental tree requires little pruning, making it a very desirable plant for both landscapers and homeowners. At Moon Valley Nurseries, we offer Purple Leaf Plum trees for sale that produce no fruit and practically no litter, making this an ideal tree for shading patios or placing around backyard seating areas. Bougainvillea

The different varieties of this plant allow it to be used in your yard in so many different ways. Due to the eye-catching colors that this plant has to offer, it is a great option to add into your yard for accent colors and texture to contrast existing landscape. This is also a good plant to cover up bare walls or bare areas in your yard. Bougainvillea’s are easily trainable to grow in vine form on trellis’, into a small tree form, or used as a unique and bright privacy hedge. Some varieties of this plant also do well when grown in containers or planting pots in small gardens and patios.

Fountain Grass

Green Fountain grass is a showy, clumping grass often used as an accent around rock gardens or border areas. The pretty plumes will form seeds and they can become invasive in garden areas. They will turn dormant in cold winters, shear them down in late winter and the new growth in spring will be soft and bright! They tolerate a wide range of soil and water situations.

Japanese Boxwood

This hardy evergreen is an excellent choice for low to medium formal hedges along walls or walkways. The Japanese Boxwood has attractive, bright green foliage that looks beautiful against buildings when used as a foundation plant. Buxus japonica is a great choice for pruning into topiary or geometric shapes when desired. Plant in well drained soil with planting mix blended into native soil. Water deeply and regularly during warm months and allow the soil to dry out between watering in cooler months.

Few plants are as strongly identified by their fragrance and color as Lavender. Lavandula (botanical name) is native to the Mediterranean region. These plants are noted for their flower colors that can be lavender, purple, pink, or white. Their silvery-green foliage, upright flower spikes, and compact, shrub-like form make them an ideal informal hedge. These evergreen shrubs are ideal for the countryside or to add vibrant color to any urban garden. We can also plant them to create an aromatic border along a path. We recommend planting them someplace where you can enjoy the aromatic flowers!

Bottlebrush

The Lemon Bottlebrush, botanical name Callistemon citrinus, is an attractive and versatile bottle brush plant that can be used as a shrub or as a medium sized tree. From southeastern Australia, this beautiful plant features striking red flowers that resemble the look of a bottle brush. Though the flowers are bright red, the flowers have a lemony scent, hence the common name. Pollinators, butterflies, and especially hummingbirds are attracted to the fragrant flowers of this fast growing evergreen.
